Zwingenberg Guide to Ibiza - Drifting Between Islands and Cities

There are people who arrive somewhere and instantly belong.
When we first visited Ibiza more than ten years ago, we immediately felt that this island would become our second home. Ibiza represents a unique kind of freedom — an island shaped more by rhythm than routine. A place with an intense energy that continuously unlocks our creativity.
For us, this duality between city life and island life became an endless source of inspiration — and still is today. When we started our family, it felt incredibly emotional to introduce our son to Ibiza as well and let him grow up with this eclectic lifestyle — between nature and the city, stillness and movement, simplicity and inspiration.

Perhaps that is exactly why Ibiza remains so magnetic. Islands intensify emotions. They create temporary worlds detached from ordinary structures — places where identities soften and time suddenly behaves differently. Cities, meanwhile, tell different stories: ambition, friction, movement and reinvention.
Between the two exists a modern rhythm:
escape and return.
stillness and stimulation.
sea air and concrete.

Days in Ibiza dissolve. Lunch becomes sunset, sunset becomes music, music becomes sunrise. Time stops behaving rationally. People arrive intending to stay for a weekend and somehow leave emotionally attached to the island years later. Ibiza teaches softness: slower mornings, salt on your skin and conversations without urgency.
Cities carry the opposite energy.
Drifting between islands and cities is not indecision.
It is a refusal to reduce yourself to only one version of who you are.
